Three Turtles and Their Pet Librarian

We are Freaky, Fegan and Squirt, three extremely intelligent turtles currently supervising a public library in southern NM. For the good of mankind (who, frankly, could do with a little help now and then), we have graciously agreed to post our observations on literature and library-related products. We may also pass on the odd review by some of our more intelligent human friends. We keep a pet librarian, Miss Ami, on hand to type our words of wisdom, feed us, and generally cater to our needs.

A Tree for Emmy by Mary Ann Rodman

I just finished processing and reading a new book, which I have to add to the spirited girls list:

"I declare, Emmy," said Gramma. "That mimosa tree is a lot like you. Stubborn and strong and a little bit wild."

Too cute! Emmy is my kind of girl, arguing with the florist that clovers and dandelions are pretty, so why shouldn't they be sold, too? She knows what she wants, and she isn't going to let anyone else's opinion stand in her way. Fortunately, she has very wise parents and a grandmother to stand behind her.
